Whether training pilots for both world wars, ushering in commercial aviation to the state, or playing its own part in the tragedy of the JFK assassination, Love Field has had many historic moments.

Two different sites chronicling the history of Braniff Airlines, which was headquartered at Love Field for many years:
- A somewhat “official” account, in that it had input from Braniff family members.
- A more fan-oriented approach.
The official Southwest Airlines history site. Southwest kept Love Field alive and has spurred much of its revitalization in recent years.
A great gallery of Southwest Airlines’ legendary flight attendant uniforms in the 1970s. It was a different time.
